After years of searching I finally got my hands on a halo 2 copy with the original receipt from the launch day.

The market for games is much less inflated, the consoles themselves tend to be cheaper in my experience and there is just not a cult following like the other aforementioned consoles. Sure you can say the PS2 has been the best selling console of all time but the Xbox sold better than the GameCube and Dreamcast. I'm perplexed but i'm not complaining at all.

I’m collecting potentially 84 Xbox games and need suggestions on what to add for my list. I have 36 already either on the list, or on the list and already bought, and I only want either exclusives or if they are multi platform it’s best played on the OG Xbox.

melee is such a nostalgic game for me, so it's honestly amazing to see it running on the original xbox. this isn't an emulator, it's built to run natively on the xbox hardware. of course we had to do the release test on the CRT, wouldn't feel right any other way.

it's fully playable with 4 players and rumble, supports 480i, 480p and 720p, and saves use the gamecube .gci format so you can bring your dolphin saves over.

So i decided i was sick of using my quiet monitors speakers and decided to add a jack. Irs pretty straight forwaed and most novices can do iy. My question is why dont more people do it? Sure you cant use digital audio and have to use stero but isnt that good enough?

Is there a special setting I need to enable or is it just install Rocky5 and you are good to go?

i ordered a ayn thor and wanted to see if the og xbox has a good emulator ive been trying to see gameplay on the original wanted to run games like ninja gaiden, halo, scarface etc. so let me know any tips i will appreciate it a lot

I have a wii component cable and was wondering if wii2xbox using that component cable and an hdmi converter would be better than just using a Xbox to hdmi cable from pound or hypermin?

Starting to come along. Loving the library so far. Grown to a point where it's deserving of dedicated shelf-space now. Found MTG: battlegrounds recently (not pictured yet), currently hunting Call of Cthulu, quantum redshift, breakdown, crimson sea, raze's hell, a case/manual for house of the dead 3, a case/manual for otogi, and a loose otogi 2/manual(currently that otogi 2 case has otogi in it with no manual, but those games are proving expensive to track down complete). My criteria are:

this is not emulation and it is not microsoft's code. it is a web build of

theseus (https://github.com/MrMilenko/Theseus), the dashboard reimplementation

by the uix team, reconstructed from binary analysis rather than from source. i

compiled it to webassembly with emscripten and wrote the layer a browser needs:

the entry point, asset fetching, storage, input, and replacements for the

libraries that expect real hardware.

what works:

- the boot animation plays, then hands over to the dashboard on a cut

- the blade menu navigates with the keyboard, and selecting opens the panels

- memory, music and settings all load

- saves persist across reloads, because the console's own drive letters are

mounted on indexeddb

- there is a working disc drive: drop audio files on the prompt in the console at the bottom and the music blade reads them as an audio cd, with track names from the files' own id3 or flac tags

- it frames itself 4:3 the way the console did, with a toggle to fill the window

what does not:

- it does not run games. there is no emulator here, just the dashboard

- settings misbehaves if you poke at it, and the network screen renders garbage

- gamepad is wired but i have not tested it on real hardware

Update 10/1: Thanks for validating I'm not in the wrong on this. Couple of clarifying details for the record. This all occurred a few weeks ago. This is a brick and mortar small business that primarily sells used games with 2 locations. I purchased this game on shop.app, not on their website directly -- it's the same inventory/checkout system either way, and the actual item was not pictured (just a listing saying it was CIB), only a stock image of the game. I immediately requested a return from the game store in question after I opened the package. Owner's response was not great. Dismissive, told me I should have called first to ask about condition, his website's game condition policy (not listed on the Shop app) explains that CIB may not include a manual (which like, why call it CIB then??).

I (politely) asked to start a return, stated I didn't think it was accurate to list this as CIB, both for the missing manual and the box art condition, explained where I had placed an order (Shop.app) and wouldn't have seen the policy since I wasn't on their store website where the policy exists. And I offered my (unsolicited) opinion that it should be possible in Shopify to add additional categories beyond "CIB" or "Loose", so that this type of things doesn't create headaches for others, and that to most people, "CIB" includes a manual and reasonably intact box art. I didn't even touch on the fact that all 4 games I'd received from their store were dirty, like black/yellow tar crud in the divot to open the case kinda dirty.

After the returned game showed delivered back to the store, I had to email the owner 3 times over the next week to get a response (leaving days apart) before a refund was finally processed. I don't think he was very happy with me, oh well.

Again, I didn't leave a negative review. I've been sitting on it for a while and that's mainly why I posted, to get feedback. I probably will leave a review somewhere. Just not going to post the name of the store here. Hopefully they get their act together.

Original Post: I won't call out this used game retailer by name, but about a month ago I purchased a "CIB" copy of Conker: Live and Reloaded on Shop.app and this is how it arrived. How would you react to this?

When I emailed the used game store, I was essentially told "Sorry, we don't have a way in our system to distinguish games with or without manuals, I get that you're a collector but the best I can do is initiate a return". Not having the manual despite being listed as CIB is one thing, not ideal but also not the end of the world either, but the cover art... call me out if I'm in the wrong and sound entitled, but how could anyone sell that massively water damaged box and list it as Used CIB? You'd think this should be sold as disc only at that point, right?

Needless to say, I initiated a return and bought a copy from a different store. I did not leave a negative review, as it's hard as a small business. I was not mean, but did express why I wanted to return. I got the impression they knew a return request was coming before I even reached out.

The funny thing is, I was snooping on the businesses facebook page and learned they are now hiring someone to help inventory with at their store - to catalog the games accurately. All stores that utilize shopify have the ability to add additional categories and meta data to their inventory/website/POS system. My hope is they begin listing their inventory more accurately going forward... and that whoever tries to buy this game next buys it as "disc only".
