Guide 2026 General Mini PC Guide USA
Hi everyone!
Thank you to everyone for their support of the Mini PC Guides and it is amazing to see the r/MiniPCs community has grown its largest ever before! These guides have evolved considerably since 2022 and the new 2026 version is finally here!
It's far from complete with many new and discontinued mini PC models to be updated so there will be regular updates. The end of 2025 and start of 2026 have seen RAM prices double or triple and SSD prices have doubled. The simple tab has been reworked to better reflect current prices and will be filled out soon.
Some of the bloat from the 2025 Guide has been temporarily removed and may see a return later in the year if you particularly want a new model list, memes, or something else.
If you see something that can use an update or models of mini pc you would like to see added, don't hesitate to leave comments in this post or on the spreadsheet. I highly recommend viewing this spreadsheet on a desktop with a large screen or on the google sheet mobile app for the best experience. The reddit app for viewing google sheets can be clunky.
Best wishes to everyone looking for mini PC!

Hardware FEVM FAEX1 intermittently won't boot - fans spin, but no display, USB response or Ethernet lights
I bought my FEVM FAEX1 just four days ago, and yesterday it started having intermittent boot problems.
Sometimes it boots normally. Other times the power LED comes on, the fans spin and the unit gets warm, but there's no display output or BIOS logo. My USB mouse doesn't light up, and neither Ethernet port shows any link lights with a cable connected. I've waited up to 15 minutes with no change.
It worked earlier today, then failed again after shutting it down and turning it back on. I haven't figured out what makes it start successfully. The issue began before my latest attempt to install updates.
BIOS: V1.06 (July 20, 2026)
EC version: 1.29
OS: Ubuntu, latest stable release
I've attached photos of the power adapter label and the unit powered on with Ethernet connected but no link lights.
Has anyone with a FAEX1 had this issue and found a fix? Also, does anyone know what the small pinhole between the two LAN ports is? If it's a CMOS/EC reset button, what's the correct procedure for this model?

Gkmtec M5 ultra vs M6 ultra
Hi,
Looking at the 32 GB/1TB configs for both.
Can someone help me to understand how the price difference is just 30$ (official US site) given that the m6 ships with DDR5?
I want to build a 24/7 proxmox machine and I think that the M5 would be more than enough, with better thermals and power consumption.
The machine will be under loaded most of the time. I may experiment with small LLM models at a certain point (with low expectations on speed) but I will run remote llms most of the time and other services.
However looking at that tiny price difference is tempting if it wasn't for the more power hungry CPU of the M6.
I'm wondering how much power it will consume when idling with the low power bios setting.
Anyone can help?
Thanks

why is my thinkcentre m70q fan loud when watching 4k youtube after replacing thermal paste?
i have a lenovo thinkcentre m70q gen 3 with an i5-12400t running linux mint 22.3 cinnamon
i recently replaced the original thermal paste with ptm7950 i tested the cpu with 100% load for more than 10 minutes and it stayed around 73 to 75c so the cpu cooling seems fine
the problem is when i watch youtube in brave when playing a 4k60 video using av1 the cpu usage goes up to around 70% and the fan gets noticeably loud when i change the same video to 1080p60 the cpu usage drops to around 20% and the fan is much quieter
i checked brave hardware acceleration and it is enabled brave gpu information also shows av1 hardware decoding support
i also checked vainfo and it shows that my intel uhd 730 supports av1 hardware decoding through va-api
i then checked intel-gpu-top while playing 4k av1 and the video engine showed 0% usage
i also checked brave media-internals and it first showed vaapivideodecoder which means the intel gpu hardware decoder was being used but then it showed a video decoder fallback after an initial decode error and switched to dav1dvideodecoder which means it fell back to software decoding using the cpu
so my main question is whether this behavior is normal on linux mint with brave and intel uhd 730 or if my va-api hardware decoding is not working correctly
is there something i can do to fix the va-api av1 decoding so the uhd 730 can handle the 4k video instead of dav1d using the cpu
i installed brave through the official package using the terminal and i am currently using brave 154.1.96.60
also is this kind of fan noise normal for the m70q when the cpu is doing software av1 decoding and is this actually a problem with my setup or just a limitation with brave on linux

Beelink - Lower Prices On US Site
Hi,
I’m considering to buy Beelink SER9. I’m confused about the difference in price for 24GB/1TB config.
Beelink EU (or even Amazon.de): 769 EUR (about 19 000 CZK)
Beelink US/International (they claim they ship from EU warehouse and there’s no import duties): 700 USD (about 15 000 CZK)
Should I buy from the US site then when it’s 4000 CZK (my currency) lower?
Thank you, Petr from Czechia

Qué minipc me aconsejáis?

Warning: AliExpress Mini PC advertised as i9-10980HK/32GB DDR4/2TB arrived with completely different hardware
I recently purchased a Mini PC from AliExpress that was advertised as:
- Intel Core i9-10980HK
- 16GB DDR4 RAM
- 2TB SSD
- Windows 11 Pro

Unfortunately, the unit I received did not match the advertised specifications.
After checking the device, I found:
- The CPU was not an i9-10980HK and was reported as a much lower-spec processor.
- The system showed 16GB RAM, with only 7.92GB usable.
- The memory was identified as DDR3, not DDR4.
I contacted the seller, and at first he told me that the computer had the same specifications I was seeing in front of me. I explained to him that I am a computer engineer and that I know my way around computers, and I showed him photos and the correct specifications of the device.
That’s when the seller replied with the message shown in the picture.

When I confronted him with these facts and the photos of the actual device, the seller suddenly changed his story and told me that he was not the one who supplied the product himself. He claimed that he purchases the devices from a supplier and that perhaps the mistake was made by the supplier.
This was strong evidence against him, and I used his own statement when I opened the dispute with AliExpress.

Then he started delaying and making excuses. First, he told me he would compensate me with $70, and later he increased the amount to $90. I completely refused because I had paid only $10 for the delivery.
I told him that I wanted at least $180 in compensation, but the seller refused. So I opened a dispute with AliExpress and attached all the documents and evidence.
While the seller responded to the dispute, about 10 days later AliExpress ruled in my favor after the device was returned and inspected. I received a full refund of the amount I paid, thank God.
I'm posting this simply to warn other buyers. Please don't rely only on the specifications shown in the listing or the reviews. If you buy a similar Mini PC, check the actual CPU, RAM type and capacity, motherboard, and storage as soon as you receive it. Tools such as CPU-Z, Task Manager, and Disk Management can help verify the hardware.
I was lucky that AliExpress accepted the return and refunded me completely. I'm sharing my experience so other buyers can check their machines carefully before it's too late.
Photos of the actual hardware/specifications are attached below.

The strange thing is that the seller had an excellent rating, with more than 500 purchases, and there were many strong reviews for the device. That’s why I chose this seller over the others.
Unfortunately, it seems that the seller is very experienced at falsifying the specifications. He even asked me to keep the device and sell it in the UAE, basically expecting me to scam someone else.
I told him that I have morals and would never do what he does or scam other people. I told him that he should act ethically and stop deceiving people.
the product link as request

General Question Samsung 9100 Pro 1TB vs Samsung 990 Pro 1TB for my Minisforum PC?
Hey all. I'm going to upgrade my system's internal SSD from a basic KINGSTON OM8TAP41024K1-A00 over to one of the two listed in my title. The problem I'm currently facing, I believe, is that this OEM SSD has a tiny host memory buffer that chokes under my workloads (Focus stacking and Lightroom/Photoshop) and even basic copy-pasting of large files. My speed goes from moderately fine to 0MB/s and latency spikes up to 7000-12000ms+ whilst simply organizing my different photo stacks. It's starting to get on my nerves.
If I'm not completely wrong, I need an SSD with DRAM, so the ones in the title would fit my needs.
My current PC is the Minisforum AI X1 with AMD Ryzen 7 255 and AMD Radeon 780M iGPU. It came with 32gb DDR5 RAM, and I've added another 32gb myself for a total of 64gb.
I know the 990 would be perfect for my rig as it is but I am likely going to build a new PC from scratch late next year, so it would be beneficial to get the 9100 in advance for that. My only concern is overheating issues and too much power draw for my little Mini-PC to handle. Since PCIe 4 is going to cap the read-write speed to whatever PCIe 4 can handle anyway, will that negate the need for dedicated heatsinks in case of overheating and be just fine, or should I go for the 990 PRO to be on the safe side? I will be getting either of these drives without the heatsink so they can actually fit into my tiny PC.
As a side note, I have been contemplating getting the MINISFORUM DEG2 OCulink eGPU Dock which has a built-in SSD slot and runs off its own dedicated power supply. I'm assuming this would simply eliminate power draw and overheating concerns I'm having, but this is just something I've been considering thus far and haven't decided yet. It is a variable that could possibly skew my decision one way or another, so I decided to include it in this post.
Thanks in advance for any replies, and I hope I found the correct subreddit for this question. If not, I would appreciate to be redirected to the more suitable subreddit. If I left out any crucial information, don't hesitate to ask and I will find out as fast as possible.
