Homebrew news I got Minecraft New 3DS Edition on Old 3DS

And yeah this is real Problems: Very bad chunk loading, you can like stand on a chunk for 10 seconds and it wills till not load; Sometimes freezes and then unfreezes; mostly has bad framerates sometimes very bad frames; crash happened to me only when I created this world for the first time on first launch of Minecraft.

It's almost like there is a reason why it's N3DS only.

This is a prototype patch some guy made thats still getting updated I think, it could be optimized, the BIGGEST reason it was new 3ds only was c stick, being easier to develop, and nintendo prob motivated mojang to do it for the new 3ds to sell more new 3dss, I dont think its IMPOSSIBLE for this to run on old 3ds. This post also exaggerates this a ton its not unplayable, it runs at like 20fps if you're in a single chunk, worlds like skyblock work pretty well, it only lags when chunk loading and updating lots of blocks

God forbid people try to experiment with limitations on hardware

Such a rude dismissive comment, the whole point of this port is to bypass the obvious technical limitations.

Ports like this are popping up every single day thanks to vibe coding, you didn't use it?

It seems that telegram link doesn't work or is incomplete, do you have another link by any chance please, I don't have a computer to compile the game myself so it would be really helpful

I don't think AI could even dream of making a full port of a game like Minecraft to a different console

It very much can, and that's the scary part.

I don’t see the issue when it comes to ports, it’s not like there’s some artistically driven purpose to creating a port.

I half agree. The issue is that vibe coded ports have the potential to cause issues since there wasn't any human trial and error process, so certain ports are eligible for damaging hardware/software. If a port is AI vibe coded, and no one suffers, that's one thing. But I have seen horror stories if vibe coded ports bricking devices.

But I have seen horror stories if vibe coded ports bricking devices.

What port? What device? I would really like a source on that cause it's giving BS, it's not that easy for a game to brick a console, man, if things are wrong, the software simply crashes lol

Unless it's just "horror stories", not real cases.

I don't think that ever happened, it teoricaly could... if some dumbass without any coding knowledge vibe coded a port, and lots of people play it, regardless of the other million bugs and problems it will have, and brick their console. Why would a shitty port get popular?

So you didn't see the GTA IV port for switch? lol

It's not AI doing anything by itself, but in the hands of good programmers, it just cuts all the boring and time consuming work of manually typing the code.
