How do i replicate the RED team text down below in GIMP?

I need help in recreating the effect that is used on RED Team text "Reliable Excavation Demotion text", like curl in in a shape of a circle. How you see.

I would start by making a path that's in the shape you want the text to be. Then type out the text in a new layer in the correct font etc. Now right click the text layer and select "text along path" - this will make a new path in the shape of the text. Right click this path layer and select "path to selection". Now you can just fill it in with a colour. Might be easier ways but this is how I do it.
