Drop Shadow Filter Problem

Every time I've gone to use it, it's made Gimp crash. This is my third time and I've lost edits every single time. Is anyone else experincing this or is it just me?

If you already know that it'll crash, why do you not save before you try the shadow?
This way you do at least not loose edits.

BTW: would be interesting to know at least your GIMP and OS version.

macOS, not sure about the version and I do save it but the files don’t open when I reopen Gimp

So it's not just Drop Shasow that has a problem.

The version should show on the splash screen, or if you go to the Help Menu and choose "About GIMP". (If you're on macOS, it might be the general GIMP menu instead)

3.0.4... I guess I should probably update it and see if that helps.

The last bugfixes for 3.0 are with 3.0.8, go get that.

Or you can jump straight to the most current versions, 3.2.6 (or 3.2.4).

I updated it and it seems to be going a lot smoother. My dad’s a tech guy and he mentioned putting my computer to sleep to when I asked him

Ctrl-S is your friend. Know it. Memorize it. Use it.
