all of them đ in all srs i love using ALL my controllers, run gamecube games with my brother, NES games with my dad, and SNES with my mom. Only the N64 games I'm left to play by myself since im the only one from my fam that plays games from that generation, plus it also requires a n64 to gc adapter to work on the wii which is more of a setup than the other controllers (either plug directly into the wii's gc port or plug into the nunchunk port of the wii remote)

here at my abode, we can even do some of the super short cuts with wii remote motion controls. Only correct way to play the game

we do those, rainbow road, mushroom gorge, and occasionally toads factory and goldmine if we get lucky. double on dk summit is difficult on motion so we usually just do single, but sometimes we pull it off

a lot of people find it more comfy to wheelie but gamecube controller and classic is more meta, i tried every controller but classic in this game and injured my left thumb using a gamecube controller because of the uncomfy wheelie controls

Wii Remote + nunchuck isn't perfect but it's a totally legit way to play the game.
Solo Wiimote is, while fun, a terrible way to play the game unless you like the challenge.2

yeah currently im on a mission to use solo wiimote and 3 star rank on every cup and engine class and i can only use funky kong once and crap i used my only chance at funky kong in mirror mode flower cup when i couldve used that for star/special and now its hard lol

As a kid I would because I didnât have either of those. It doesnât matter now because I got pretty good with the Wii Wheel and Dolphin lets me use whatever controller I want. But I think itâs primarily an accessibility thing. More options is rarely a bad thing.

Perfect wheelies with a button have a 1 frame input. With motion you get 3 frames.
Technically the best controller is wii wheel since it can reach directional inputs of a unit square rather than every other input of a unit circle while also having the benefits of the 3f wheelie. The unwieldyness of wheel makes it unfavourable, so nunchuck is used.
Nunchuck also comes with the console, you have to buy other controllers

Meanwhile I play with an Xbox Series X controller on Dolphin Emulator. Could also use a Switch or Switch 2 controller, but the lack of analog triggers is a bit of a turn-off for me.
