Thinking about playing mario kart again

Post image

So recently I quit playing on my Wii entirely and started playing other games, but I've been seeing so much retro rewind videos on my YouTube feed and I've been eager to try it for myself. I'm gonna have to gain my skills back because it's been a super long time since I played. How's it for you guys?

I just saw the retro rewind stuff as well and decided to try it out. Super easy to install and configure as well as being a blast with all those tracks.

Most fun racing game in the history of the world. Don’t care about skill, Mario kart is always fun.

I’ve been playing since late 2009 and it’s the most fun I’ve ever had playing the game.

Retro Rewind is great, it's a lot of fun to have so many tracks all in one place, I play it a lot on my Retroid Pocket Flip 2.

The online definitely worked for me a few months ago but I haven't tried online for a while, it was having some issues on the server side, not sure if they fixed it or not yet.

Could you please help explain how you were able to install Retro Rewind on your Retroid?

You have two options:

  1. Follow a tutorial from the official Retro Rewind Website that has a YouTube video on how to setup Riivolution Patches in Android Dolphin: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21afHo3ji14
  2. Build an ISO file of it that works with Dolphin, there is also a YouTube video on how to do that on the official Retro Rewind Website: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5PW9iPkZfQ

You could also just install the native port called Driftdroid to play it with stable 60fps

Its so easy to setup on PC and it runs fine even at 8x resolution. Download wheelwizard -> choose mkwii.iso pal (internet archive has one) -> check wiicompiled on the settings and its done

It even has keyboard and mouse support (recent update)

Absolutely play it! I’ve been having so much fun playing it again the past few weeks.

For me personally it's been nonstop 84020 and 91020 error codes within 20 seconds of logging in to WFC ever since they "fixed" the servers (trying for up to 5 hours at a time before giving up) but others seem to be having a good run of it. If you can connect it's a pretty good time.

I've been playing since last year! Originally used my Wii, but my Wi-Fi adapter stopped working..Glad I have an old gaming laptop from 2021. Works great.

This is the only game I really have time to pick up and play a few races of. It's reliving my peak obsession with MKWii when I was playing online back in 2012.

Average 250 players online at night. I was playing when there was a max of 50-60 lol Great to see this game coming back

Check out Midnight 2.0 and CTGP. You’re going to go down the rabbit hole.

neither Retro WFC nor NewWFC work for me. I'm still trying to figure it out 😭

Servers might be down. They’ve had problems with ddos attacks the last few weeks…
