Hi there! Can I add a pin to my Roku tvs to prevent people changing the channel when hooked up to my WiFi? I own a restaurant and have had customers change the channels lol

Hey there. I've noticed that most streaming apps on my Roku aren't outputting in HDR10+. The native apps built into my TV handle the format without any issues.
I'm wondering if this is a hardware limitation with the Roku dongle itself, or if the streaming services just aren't optimizing their codecs for the device. Netflix is actually the only Roku app where HDR10+ seems to work for me.
Pictures 1 and 3 show the native TV apps. Pictures 2 and 4 show the Roku apps.
Hi.
I'm setting up my 28'x24' game room and need to decide whether I should use a Roku Streambar (9102) or an onn Smart Soundbar (9100). I have a pair of Roku speakers for the back of the room and a Roku subwoofer. The seating is directly in front of the TV with chairs about 12' away and a couch 20' away with no seating off to the side. Which device would you recommend and why?
TIA!

(not sure if I grabbed the right flair - this is kind of a support question I guess)
I don't remember why I did it this way, but no matter - my Apple TV subscription works fine when I use the "Apple TV on The Roku Channel" app. But when I try to sign in using the plain old Apple TV app, I'm not getting connected.
Some searching around, and found that by signing up the way I did, Roku is managing my billing, so there is a disconnect between Roku and Apple.
Is there any way to resolve this, so that I can watch the plain old Apple TV app on other devices, like a Firestick?
Thanks!

Hey everyone, looking for a TV for our college house for under $200. Needs to be available at Best Buy in the US. Screen size doesn’t really matter (not too small). My main priorities are decent built-in speakers and smooth performance using YouTube and other streaming apps. As long as the picture looks reasonably clear, I’m happy. I’ve heard good things about Roku TVs from friends, but which specific brand/model would you recommend within this budget? Open to other options too. Thanks!

It's been days and I've tried everything, any ideas on why this is?
My TCL Roku TV had been turning black sometimes when I turned it on but still had sound. The power off trick where you unplug it and hold the power button on the TV for 30 seconds then plugged it in 5-15 minutes later and turned it on had been fixing it usually once I did it a few times. Fell asleep with the TV on the other night and woke up to it black with the sound on again but now that trick won't work sadly. Tried a hard reset and now it turns on instantly when it gets plugged in but I can't get it to work sadly.
Closest it comes to working is turning on for a second with the Roku TCL logo and the red background but then a grey bar appears horizontally at the top and it slowly fades to black. Sucks ass because I was so happy to have a TV again and my friend had given me this one when his grandparents got a new one. Guess I'll be watching stuff on my computer or phone now sadly. (Just looking for any advice if this shouldn't be posted here go ahead and take it down please)

I'm using a Roku stick and only the Apple app is constantly buffering. Sometimes just for 1-2 seconds; sometimes longer. The internet connection is "good,"
Are there any settings or troubleshooting I can do.
Not sure which Roku stick I have but it's only a couple years old.
EDIT: just did a speedtest on my phone and got 150mbps EDIT: It's a Streaming Stick Plus 4k a year old.

I am a fan of game shows and keep seeing ads for a $100,000 Pyramid and Match Game/Press Your Luck channels but the channels haven't shown up on my live guide. Do I need to update the app or are some channels not available everywhere?

Wasnt the last hardware from 2024? Will Roku announce new models for 2026 with updated specs?
I'd love to see what a new Roku Ultra 2026 can do. Mostly because a 2024 model is noticably worse than an Apple Tv. And not sure how it compars to Google TV Streamer.

Some (but not all) YouTube ads end and the screen is black. I still have audio, so I know the video I’m watching is still running. The only way to get the video back to normal is to back out of the video, and find it again in the Library. Seems to happen with the adds that aren’t full screen (has promo info on side of screen). Anyone else have this issue?
I keep hearing there is a fix for this coming. Is everyone else still having this issue?
Support, WHEN is the fix coming??

It was still there a couple months ago. I think it moved from news to lifestyle. Now I can't find it at all (US). Is it just me? Can anyone confirm?

It is a Roku Premiere 4K streaming device. It had a remote, but it stopped working. No matter what batteries I put in it, it just stopped working, so I started using the apps on my phone and iPad. It usually works, but about a month ago I had my bedroom bathroom remodeled, so I unplugged my TV, DVD player, and my Roku. They were all unplugged for a month. After it was done and I plugged everything back in, it was working fine (with the app on both my phone and iPad) for a month, then once again my app tells me the Roku is disconnected from my device. I keep turning both on and off to get it reconnected, and it works for a while, then back to nothing.
Do these devices need to be updated like phones? Or maybe I need a new TV.

hellppp!!! I just blew money on new batteries, ive done every recommended restart and pairing thing I can find online. The TV came with the apartment, so I didn't install it, but I'm the very first person in this unit. The remote will happily turn the TV on, but that's absolutely it. I'm stuck on the "let's get started" screen because no other button (including power to turn the tv back off) will respond.
So like, clearly there's no problem w/ the sensor since it'll turn on, i just put new batteries in it, and it's a completely brand new system, so whats up?
I'm so annoyed. I guess it might be worth reaching out to maintenance, but this feels so weird that idk what they could do. I wanted to see if anyone has dealt with something similar.
Thanks :)

I just a new Roku stick plus and I’m trying to pair it to my Samsung tv, when I first set it up it was working fine but now it’s not working anymore. It will turn the sound on but when it says it’s supposed to mute it’s not muting. I have tried the ir and cec setup and gone through all the codes with ir. Please help if anyone can! Thanks
Edit. The remote is paired with the Roku device, that’s not the issue. I can’t get it to pair with the Samsung tv to control power and volume.

We’ve been watching this show on the Roku channel via Fire Stick, and we were going to watch the season 2 finale tonight.
The show seems to be gone.
Is that a glitch, can I find its status?

I have a TCL Roku TV and the proprietary Roku wireless soundbar. The TV is starting to get long in the tooth, and I'm considering putting an Apple TV box on one of the HDMI inputs. My questions are:
- Will I be able to send the Apple TV audio through the soundbar?
- If so, is there a way to prevent the Roku TV from transmitting all its "phone home" data since I'd be using Apple TV exclusively? (I'm assuming the sound bar needs Wifi.)
(I apologize to the mods - the sound bar I'm asking about is manufactured by Roku even if the TV is from TCL, so I hope this qualifies?)

Currently have a TCL 55S405 from 2019 in my living room. The brightness has always been an issue. Lots of natural light make it tough to see anything most of the day and even at night its tough to see darker scenes.
Would the Roku Plus series be adequate for a bright room? Specifically looking at model 65R6C7

After a recent update, our Roku TV has been restarting on its own, often going through startup twice when first turned on. In addition, it would randomly return to the Home Screen every so often while using our DVR and antenna (often at the worst possible time, like right before a big dramatic moment or the punchline of a joke). I saw this fix by [u/waldolc](u/waldolc) in a comment about trying to use the tv as a monitor. I changed our HDMI Compatibility Mode and restarted the tv. No more restarts or random Home Screen 🏆. If this solution doesn’t work, there are multiple others in the original comment (linked above). I am copying the solution here to make it easier to find. Thank you to [u/waldoc](u/waldoc) for the excellent advice!
“Change the HDMI Compatibility Mode on the TV: On your Roku TV home screen, go to Settings > TV
Inputs. Select the HDMI port your PC is connected to and look for HDMI Mode. Change it from Auto to Standard / HDMI 1.4 (or switch to HDMI 2.0 / 2.1 if it was previously set to standard). Changing this forces the TV to use legacy handshake rules.”

This isn't my TV and I have no idea how old it is, but I'm having issues with dialogue being too quiet. I'll turn up the volume to hear only for something loud to play then it's back to being too quiet. Volume will be in the 20s and be too quiet so I'll turn it up to the 30s to hear, loud music or something else plays and it's back to being quiet dialogue. Then I'll have to turn it up to 40 to hear the quiet bits again. I've looked and looked, but if this has been a problem before I can't find it. I've included pictures of the settings I do have. A lot of what I can find is for settings this TV doesn't have. It's an Onn Roku TV. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

My Roku onn tv suddenly stopped displaying the screen. Last night my husband and I were watching tv w no issues. We came down in the basement today to watch tv and this is what pops up. There’s still audio, and I checked my cameras to make sure my cats didn’t mess with the tv and there’s no footage of any ‘malfeasance’. Has anyone else had this issue before? Can I take it somewhere to repair?! It’s only a year old :/ if we try to open apps or stream, the colors change, but still the same display

Hi, so I turned on my Roku TV (on the roku hdmi) and for some reason no buttons work except for the volume buttons and the power button. I even tried connecting my phone as the remote but again, nothing worked except the headphones button. How do I fix this?
