Video Forsaken Kingdom really feels like the Warcraft III campaign I wanted from Reforged

Just started The Last Days of Lordaeron and finished Homecoming. I really like the atmosphere so far — seeing Lordaeron alive again with the new presentation feels surprisingly nostalgic.

I recorded the opening cinematic and the full first chapter in 4K60 if anyone wants to see it:

What do you think of the new campaign so far?

I had fun with it. After finishing it feels like a one and done experience for me. I would've been happy too if base Reforged released with this. Dunno that it was worth 30 additional dollars

Pluses: The backpack and all the items were fun. I really liked the Mage in Homecoming and it's missions, the FK quests were fun and getting to pick variants for our abilities.

Minuses: Our mercenary or army units die too fast even on low difficulty. I wish they werent as squishy or our heros were if it meant mobs did less. They require constant micro or they insta explode. And after homecoming it should've had some base building missions. I also felt the ending came out of nowhere what happened with a central character. Kinda wish Homecoming had more missions

I liked the prolog more than the Forsaken campaign. Maybe we will get a campaign with the Scarlet Cursade / Ashbringer POV? That would be grand!

That would be sweet a scarlet campaign.

Agreed on it missing a base building mission. Maybe something like building establishing brill as a foothold against Scarlet attacks or venturing down into Silverpine for something similar

In terms of quality I think it’s great.

I just wish it was RTS focused instead of only RPG. I hope if they do more storylines like this then they do RTS gameplay. They could do things like

  1. Scarlet Crusade PoV campaign covering the events it until the Ashbringer is corrupted, or even up to its redemption that leads into Wrath.

  2. The founding of Theramore

  3. The Stormwind and Ironforge storylines pre-WoW. Rebuilding Stormwind, the Defias Brotherhood beginning, the Dark Iron Dwarfs becoming more active, etc.

  4. Founding of Teldressil, maybe sprinkle in some Emerald Nightmare stuff

A lot of options imo

You wanted a campaign with no base building, no resource management and collection, all RPG, no RTS?

I refunded it after I learned this. I just assumed an RTS game would have basebuilding. Silly me, I guess?

Yeah I wouldn’t have gotten it if I knew it wasn’t an rts. I just bought it sight unseen because it was my favorite game. C’est le vie.

Same, and after I realized it was just WoW Lite I got my refund. And I'm sure if they do something like this again I'll fall for it all over.

I wish they would redo the other two expansions this way. I love the new graphics, I love the backpack and gear progression. I thought it was a great experience

I got through most of act 1 and gave up. I don't like WoW and it felt like proto-WoW.

The prologue (human part) was fun, but the Forsaken acts quickly got very boring because its easy even on Hard difficulty.

The 3 heroes quickly become so insanely overpowered that i just Shift-queue attack-move commands and alt-tab to something else.

During a boss you MIGHT have to use W on Garek and R on other melee guy, but often you can just ignore everything.

Honestly feels like the current Forsaken """Hard""" difficulty should have been set as Normal, and then at least 1 tougher difficulty added above that.

Also the amount of time wasted on walking through an empty/trivial map is insane... sometimes it takes several MINUTES of just waiting for my character to run from A to B to C.
