Could be a dumb question - how do you guys tell when a NE main is teching to next tier? How to tell the tier from looking at the tree (apart from guessing by size)? Unlike other races, those trees dont have enough visuals to differentiate them.

The hands move slower during teching then they do during training wisps.
Tree of Life has no particles
Tree of Ages has teal Wisp particles
Tree of Eternity has golden Faerie Fire particles2

Also the moonwell looks too big when it’s being built it looks like it could be an altar

I'm really happy to see the improvements so far. I look forward to seeing the improvements for the Lava, Poison, Rock, Sand and Snow tiles too.

Well, all that's left is to roll back the trees and buildings to their OG appearance, and they're done here.

Bruh, the DE trees are Soooo much better. Arguably the only terrain they got right the first pass.

I mean, overall DE looks better obviously, they take the right course, but it still doesn't ring a bell
And removing HD Classic was absolutely unreasonable move2

They're making good improvements. There's still some stuff that really throws me off though. Clumps of air units are much harder for me to distinguish now. There are more moving parts and the silhouette of units is different in a lot of cases. Gryphons look away boxier than before and chimera have a larger wing span. Some of this takes getting used to but I do think lots of air units is a problem since there is way more going on and more grades of color. Similarly I notice the selection circle is much bigger in some cases. The model for spirit pigs is huge and the selection looks like it takes up 3x the area in DE. I also think the position indicator for flying units should be available in every graphics mode.

Based on those pictures i struggle to find any meaningful difference between them.
I think there is less vegetation and the trees are a bit sharper textures?
From those pictures i honestly would not even notice something was changed.

Very good. Feels like they just gave up and enhanced the definition of original textures.
OG 2002 Warcraft is just unbeatable

Why wasn’t this work done before the new expansion? I bought the collection during blizzcon and have immediately shelved it because it’s not cooked

i swear you guys are pranking me sometimes. i honestly can barely tell the difference. it surprises me how much wc3 players analyze the details of the graphics. i don't think the sc2 community goes to this depth, it's wild.

I literally don't know what to tell you. They are not the same picture.
Personally the difference never bothered me as much as others, but I can definitely see what they're talking about.
Noise frequency, contrast, shadow density, granularity of details including of individual grass blades that, when taken as a whole... The prior unfixed DE version was too smooth but also repetitive because it was lacking in visual variety, as the few details it did have were very large and obvious and samey.
New version is much closer to OG.

Have they fixed the terrain for the Reforged graphics as well? Because I swear it looks better, although that just might be a placebo effect.

I'n glad they're making the effort to fix how off-putting the ground textures looked. I hope they fix the tree stumps next.
