(wanted to clarify aswell: i talk about agmatine which isn’t approved as a supplement, based on studies it doesn’t seem to be harmful at doses studied but always do your own research. Also i don’t think it’s been studied long term so just keep that in mind)
This is a weird ass discovery I made and i actually thought this only applied to gabapentin but it works really well for Lyrica suprisingly. For some context, I am on 350mg of pregabalin daily for anxiety, used to be on 550mg
I’ve tested this method with and without agmatine in the mix and i find agmatine actually really adds to this effect.
It kicks in about 2x faster and arguably harder.. You make sure you have a relatively empty stomach then take your 500-1000mg agmatine 15-30 mins before, then you take your pregabalin dose with a carbonated drink. I’ve tested sugary drinks and non-sugary drinks and I find it doesn’t really matter but generally if it’s a bit acidic I find that helps a bit? (can’t really find any evidence to support pH affects it)
Pregabalin is absorbed through LAT1 (an amino acid transporter) in your upper intestine, this means it can’t dissolve in your stomach and the faster it can leave your stomach the better. Now obviously that means a empty stomach is better, but to do even more would be drinking a carbonated drink on top of a empty stomach, the dissolved carbon dioxide creates pressure within your stomach (which creates a physiological response to push stomach contents into your intestines faster) and it also dilates blood vessels in your intestines which lets pregabalin dissolve faster (this dilation is also way more pronounced with agmatine, a releaser of endogenous nitrogen monoxide)
I also believe the carbonation + increased pH may probably affect how fast the capsule dissolves too (not fully sure on this)
Yeah just wanted to share my discovery, helps a lot when my anxiety is getting bad and need the dose to hit me quickly. 😁
