Work in Progress Is this cute or ugly
Just doing a raglan with scrap yarn change every four rows - it about chest length now. Keep going? Frog and move on?

CUTE!!! I love it. The colors are working really well together, there's nice variation, but it doesn't look busy. And you have nice tension!

Cute, but looks a little snug under the arm.

u/rlanham6 1d ago
I’m hoping I can loosen it with blocking??? But yes that would be an easy redo

u/Physical-Store-9404 1d ago
Block now before you continue. Then decide whether to alter the stitch count with a redo. Overall very cute and the colors are great. My only suggestion would be to make it long sleeved because of the weight, but that’s just a personal preference not a flaw in your project.

I like this quite a bit, but think you'll be happier and more comfortable in the end if you frog and start over one size up if you have enough yarn. The arm holes here are unpleasantly tight.

u/linnlea00 1d ago
Agree. But you just gotta rip back until the splitting for sleeves. Add a few more inches of length and increases if you also want more ease. Another option to keep the armhole high but not so tight is to cast on more stitches under the arm. You can decrease away as many of them as u want in both the body snd sleeve.

very cute, i love how the fuzzy pink yarn looks with the other non fuzzy yarns

I agree, love that texture! Now wondering if a sweater in all smooth neutrals with a couple stripes of fuzzy colors for pop could be in my future.

So cute, I'd wear the crap out of that. I would do a more finished hem on the sleeves (the same look a tubular cast on provides, not sure how it's done when casting off).

u/onsugarhill83 1d ago
Cute! The blue is the most variegated I’d use so the stripes are clear, especially since most of the colors aren’t variegated.

I love it! I always wish I had enough scrap yarns in the same/similar weight to knit a funky striped sweater like this.

It's SO cute and I love the colors with your hair, these are great colors for you.
Would 100% keep going, and keep the short sleeves and layer a thin cotton, solid color longsleeve underneath for winter. A pair of brown leather boots. Jeans. Oh baby. I want this outfit! LOL

As it stands now, the sweater is much too tight to fit over a layering t-shirt or even to wear comfortably directly against her body. She has a nice concept and colorway going and her stitching is quite good. I hope she adjusts this because she's on track to have a very nice sweater.

I think the colors are lovely! My personal preference is for knitted garments with positive ease though, so I would probably frog it and reknit to get a garment with a little more space in it, as it looks a little snug in the underarm and around your arms, but if you’re happy with the fit then that’s all that really matters!!

I am a very critical person (personality flaw, I am working on it) and can happily report that your knit is super super cute.

u/Only-Memory2627 1d ago
Personally, I’d make the arms a little wider because I prefer to have ease there, but you should do what feels comfortable for you. And I’d just frog the arm and add stitches, not the torso.
I like the colour mix

Love it!! Love the colours. If the yarn is wool, you can always block it to stretch (in response to some people saying the sweater isn’t lose enough for layering)

I think it's cute. You're lucky the colours work with your skin tone and hair

Both. Depends on your personal style and whether you give a toot about other people's opinions. If it makes you happy, then don't let anyone degrade your exuberance.
I personally love stuff like this and made a jacket out of a big random crocheted blanket. I think the stripe repeat on it is 12 colours. It's obnoxious, and I love it.

I usually hate scrap projects but I adore this! Colours are very cohesive, doesn't feel too noisy at all!

I think it is so cute!! But the sleeves look a bit too tight, so if you care about that maybe frog those? But tbh I think it’s ok

I think it’s very cute!! And looks very well done. I vote keep going, as long as you love it and want to wear it.

I agree with everyone else here, you’ve got such a nice group of colors that you’re working with. I wish I had a good eye for picking colors that work well with each other. It gives a cool 90s vibe and stripes which are both so in right now!

Super cute, but I’d make the armholes deeper. Just frog back to where you split and keep increasing. If you don’t want more ease, keep knitting down before you split or slow down your increase rate. But the colors are super cute! ☺️

I love it! I am making a similar raglan right now, using the different colours of the london underground stops. But I love the colours you used, I may make one with similar colours next. This is reminiscent of the Gap sweater that people are going bonkers for.

You would never think those colors would work, but they WORK! Plus, they look great with your skin tone & hair color. Please keep us updated!

I love the colors. I get decision paralysis for striped projects and haven't started many. This looks awesome.

Hm, it depends. It is cute if it's for home and couch days, or for a young kid. If for anything else keep in mind that the spacing of the rows and the fact that they are horizontal will make anyone look bigger and chunkier, not sure if this is what you're after.
A hat or scarf would be nice too. You're obviously a very skilled knitter and overall the colours are lovely, it just depends on what you're after. I expect a ton of downvotes but it's just an honest opinion here, in no way a criticism or a downer.

Cute! It reminds me of the happy stripe GAP sweaters of the 90s-early 2000s
