Finished Object I won a thing! :)
This year was my first time entering my knitting in any endeavor that involves judging and I actually won a ribbon. I entered my Cara Sweater (pattern by LE Knit) in the Washington State Fair this year and took home the 2nd place ribbon for adult pullover sweaters. Whaaa?! My gobs have been sufficiently smacked. Anyway… I’m super stoked about it and just wanted to share a fun update on a Friday. :)

SECOND place??!!!! What the hell was first place?!! Knit with gold??! 😂. This is absolutely stunning!!! And it’s huge! Maybe as a very short torso’d woman I’m used to knitting much shorter sweaters so I really appreciate how big this is! What yarn did you use?

This is such a kind comment—thank you so, so much! ❤️ The 1st place winner was really lovely—it had colorwork and some very tiny cables. I* thin*k it was the Medokvit sweater by Teti Lutsak, but I was trying to ID it after the fact and forgot to take a photo of it at the fair for comparison 🤦🏻♀️, so… not totally sure. LOL. It was beautifully done, though, so I totally got why it won 1st and the grand prize ribbon, too. I used Malabrigo Rios in Gris for this one. I’m 5’4” but a bit longer torso’d, so I added a little bit of length so it would hit my hips the way I prefer.

The first place sweater was really beautiful with intricate cables. It was the Medokvit Sweater pattern. The knitting talent at the Washington State Fair is incredible.
