You done fucked up. Nintendo wanted to stop early consoles from leaking, so units that were sent out to stores before launch day were disabled from factory. Only way to enable them is to take it online for the day 1 update. iirc there is also a second day 1 update to enable the sd card reader once one is inserted.

False, the switch 2 is usable completely offline out of the box with switch 2 game cards which contain the system updates on them as demonstrated in this video.

Games that need updated firmware always come with the firmware on the cart and can be updated like that. Its how its worked on switch 1 since its release

I’m still on day 1 also.

Pretty sure I’m the one holding back jailbreak progress. I know with my luck that if I update- within 5 minutes a full fledged jailbreak will be released. So I’m sorry, but I’m certain a JB is only waiting on me to run out of patience 😆

See I've been thinking the same lol. And I was real careful. I did the day 1, and the SD card updates and they were both done on the hotspot on my phone so that it couldn't ever accidentally connect to my home WiFi lol

It uses the same firmware as the Switch 1. It launched with a mature firmware (version 19).

Switch 2 no va a ser hackeada hasta sus últimos años o hasta que salga SW3, tampoco va a haber emuladores ni absolutamente nada hasta entonces, estamos hablando de casi una década en el futuro. I got a Day One system with Day One firmware, express card install, and all of my virtual games linked and installed.

Just over the weekend I unlinked that system and downloaded all games to a newer Switch 2 that is being used and kept almost up to date.

And if I buy a PS6 at all, it will be to have a Day One firmware system for eventual jailbreak.

No one said that. People don't know for sure if the Switch 2 will be a hardware mod like the switch 1 or a software mod like the PS4/ps5. Both PlayStations require a low enough firmware with people pushing patches for games for people on lower firmwares. Most think it will be a hardware mod and they're probably right but with the switch 1, there is some down time between the latest firmware update and compatible files for HATS. Those of us not updating are waiting because if they find an exploit, it might be hardware and firmware and we want to make sure we can hack it.

No one knows right now. We're all hoping for exactly what the switch 1 is like. A duplicate of the mmc onto an SD card that you can update to the latest firmware and play whatever you want. In a perfect world, someone would be able to hack it where it was untraceable by Nintendo and we could all play online without them knowing

I thought the boost mode would give 60 fps to all switch 1 games but it's not the case. Boost mode only renders switch 1 games as if they were docked but in handheld mode. Sd card support is an older update don't know which one but I thinks it one of the 21.x.x ones

From my understanding, they weren't able to play S1 games right out of the box. People had released videos of them not working before release day. Then there was an SD card update that you needed for the express cards. But that could be triggered by putting any SD card into it and running that
