while this is significant it is gezine we're talking about, he's just gonna get that bug bounty.

However he has previously released ps5 jailbreaks to the public, he has reported others however

Weird question, what is this more significant for, the development of switch 2 hacking or the development of switch 2 emulation?

Both, but it's kind of a tiered system.
For emulation to exist, you need to understand how the system itself works. Ergo, Switch 2 needs to be hacked/jailbroken before emulation can properly exist.
Even if he dumped a full game (which he says he CAN but has no interest in doing) he's only getting one piece of the puzzle. You still need to know how the system interacts with the game itself in order to make it run. Right now, he has the possibility of finding out how the game interacts with the system, but he needs the reverse as well.
I won't pretend to know what that looks like, but until we can escape userland on the Switch 2, emulation has no real chance.

IF he dumped a full game, would we be able to reverse engineer the way the system works and create an emulator without needing to jailbreak the system?
I assume it would be almost impossible in practice due to how "complex" modern consoles are, but i'm asking if it would be possible in theory out of curiosity.

well in theory i guess but practicality like you said it would be very hard

We will have Switch 2 game recompilations way before an emulator thanks to AI, but emulators will also be developed faster.

A Game dump is useless because without the system keys we can't really decrypt the contents

The title is extremely misleading.

Look I KNOW this isn't a full hack it's just a userland contained bug that he somehow managed to get a decrypted code our ANS can be STUDIED TO SEE HOW GAMES WORK IN SWITCH 2 CODE
ITS MASSIVE FOR RESEARCH PURPOSES

We know how Switch 1 games work thanks to modchips, yet it still hasn't been possible to hack the Switch 1 v2 without using one; so tell me, what difference will this make if they haven't managed to hack the Switch 1 v2 without a modchip? (So, once the Switch 1 is hacked without a modchip, that’s when there will be talk of the Switch 2.)

this can be used to make a MODCHIP FOR THE SWITCH 2 CANT YOU PEOPLE BE POSITIVE FOR ONCE AND LOOK AT THIS IN A GOOD WAY

I refuse to get my hopes up. Not until I hear he's broken out of userland and has an exploit. Until then, No.
That being said, there's no guarantee this can be used to make a modchip for the Switch 2. We still don't have a way to bypass the boot security safely and reliably, which is the first step in a modchip.
All we can do with this is see how the game itself interacts with the switch 2, but it's only half of the puzzle. He can make educated guesses, yes, but there's a chance those would be wrong because we don't know how the system itself operates...and on top of that, he says he can dump whole game files with it but has no interest in doing so...meaning that he won't be getting the entire picture of how the game interacts with the switch, if he doesn't have the entire ROM to examine.
Sounds like, at best, he's examining the header of the games to see how the game handles launching and seeing if there's an exploit he can use in there.

seems like it could potentially be used for emulating games, but modchip seems less likely. But maybe if they reverse engineer the binary and find some flaw in the security.

The end game for me is PC emulation I couldn't care less for a modchip. But if I somehow managed to buy a switch 2 I'll forget about emulation and just play the console

You're losing your argument. Your downfall imminent

I don't get it why are these people always down voting us? What will they do once they're proven that we will one day have a fully functional hardware hack that will lead to emulation

I will eat a Switch 2 when it happens (it won't).

Fried

And would he like a side of chips with that? And a pepsi max to wash it down?

At the current state (very early), does it make sense to buy a switch 2 and dump it until a jb is found? Brand new, im not sure what firmware that comes with

Wild that it was managed to be pulled from a HDMI cable if true
