Video If you love arena shooters and Instagib, you've gotta check this out

A few of us at Aimlabs are huge fans of arena shooters. As a team focused on aim & FPS improvement, we have a ton of respect for ArenaFPS and how much it rewards raw aim and movement.

So we made our own PvP arena mode inspired by Instagib, right inside Aimlabs - Instashot.

Millions of players use Aimlabs every month to train for games like Counter-Strike, OW, Apex Legends, etc so we wanted to introduce that player base to the magic of ArenaFPS.

Honestly we found that it's the most fun way to train aim against actual players.

Even though it's still in early development, we wanted to get it out there now so we can build and tune it directly with player feedback such as your own.

We just dropped FFA and 1v1 Instashot on 3 arena style maps. You can bhop, double jump, dash, and wall bounce to make yourself harder to hit. Up next we've got LG duels planned, alongside new maps and modes.

Give it a try if you'd like, and feel free to drop a comment below with any feedback!

Hello,

This is a short clip from arena shooter style game that i am making right now.

It combines some of racing (automotive) aspects with old school quake and UT2004 ideology.

More of development you can see on instagram: shift6_game

Video Got tired of crosshairs disappearing in high-contrast maps.

Hey everybody!

As a PC gamer, I’ve always been annoyed by how standard crosshairs (and even monitor OSDs) completely vanish during high-contrast scenes — whether it's aiming into deep shadows, bright skyboxes, or chaotic explosions (especially in games like Hunt: Showdown or CS2).

Instead of settling for static colors, I spent the last few months developing a native Windows utility called Smart Crosshair. It dynamically samples the background pixels underneath the crosshair in real-time and flips color contrast on the fly so you never lose your center point.

Engineering & Technical Approach:

Zero Injection: Operates purely as a transparent top-most Windows desktop overlay. No memory reading, no game code injection, and zero process tampering — making it safe from anti-cheat systems.

Real-Time Pixel Adaptation: Sub-millisecond pixel sampling directly beneath the crosshair position to dynamically invert colors based on background brightness.

Ultra-Lightweight Footprint: Built with pure C++ and Win32 API. No heavy frameworks — uses < 7 MB RAM and negligible CPU.

Built-in 32x32 Matrix Editor: Includes a custom pixel-art editor, presets, and Steam Workshop support to share designs.

🎥 Short Demo Video: Watch on YouTube

🛒 Steam Store Page: Smart Crosshair on Steam

Just wanted to share this project with the community. I'd love to hear your thoughts, feedback, or any technical questions about the overlay implementation!

Video Sinned Arena - an arena shooter set in hell that I've been making solo for the past 3 years

Hello,

I'd like to show you my game, Sinned Arena. It's an arena shooter and my homage to Quake 3 and, mainly, Unreal Tournament (1999) - which to this day I consider the greatest FPS. As a small solo indie developer, I wanted to make my own game in this genre. It's a passion project, so I'm not trying to be "better" than those classics or to sell millions of copies. My goal was to make myself happy, and hopefully a few others along the way.

So what is it about?

You're trapped in hell along with other unfortunate "prisoners", forced to fight each other in various arenas for the demons' twisted pleasure. And the demons won't just let you die - they keep reviving you and force you to fight forever. Your only hope is to defeat the champion, and if you do, you've been promised a way out.

How is it different from other arena shooters?

You and the other fighters use Relics - upgrade items for your character or your weapons. You can collect them, but you can also lose them. Between matches you're not sitting in a menu. You're in the lobby/courtyard of the demon's castle, where you can talk to the other fighters to get pieces of lore and challenge them to 1v1 duels. The point of a duel is to take a Relic from your opponent - win and it's yours. But they can challenge you too, and if they win, you lose one of yours.

My main focus is the single player experience, even though this genre screams multiplayer. It's very hard for an indie dev in this genre to maintain a healthy multiplayer playerbase, so my original plan was to add multiplayer after release. But feedback from Steam Next Fest showed me that players kind of expect multiplayer right away in a game like this. So I delayed the release by a year and got it in for launch - though it doesn't have full parity with single player just yet. Multiplayer currently has Deathmatch only, and no Relics. That will come later.

As for single player, I wanted the bots to feel like real humans, so no matter the difficulty, they're never faster or slower than you, never deal more damage than you, and they don't even know where the pickups are - they have to actually find them. There's definitely still room for improvement, but non-cheating bots were my ultimate goal.

I could write pages about the game but this is already long enough.

The game releases on July 28, 2026 for $8.99 (with 15% launch discount), so if you're interested, take a look at the Steam page.

Thank you

Worked on this for a hackathon. Pretty fast paced, has rocket & grenade jumping, quake air strafe and bunnyhop movement (kinda hard to circle jump on mobile but steam release will be coming soon along with online co-op and PvP)

It's just a short video but it was fun lining up the features in quick shots and having the ingame announcer as voice over, almost like a small rap. Btw. the game is not a FPS, but it's very a much arena shooter.

The game is still in development, but if you wanna see more, here is the Steam page:

Over 3,000 hours of work later, I finally pressed the release button, and my game, Project RAZE, is now available on Steam in Early Access! 🎉

It's a sci-fi FPS where, instead of dying, you lose time. If that concept sounds intriguing and you enjoy score-attack shooters, feel free to check out my game on Steam! 💙

Video OrbitalCrash - new free-to-play Arena FPS i've been developing.

Hey everyone!

After 2 years of solo development, I just launched OrbitalCrash, a fast-paced Arena FPS, completely free-to-play on Steam.

What is this game about?

It's mainly about shooting other players but with some quirks,
I wasn't trying to reinvent the genre and I wanted to combine mechanics I personally love from a few games into something that feels distinct.

I got some inspirations from straftat for the movement, and redmatch 2 for the upgrades.
In game you can grapple because it's cool, and push people, because kicking people at the edge of the map feels great.

There are also some maps with different gravity patterns, like a planetoid and minecraft like cube.
I really wanted to test this concept from mario galaxy in an arena shooter.

This is a solo/small project and I'm actively improving it.

I could really use your feedback to improve the game loop + bug / netcode fixes!

thanks!

Hey everyone! I made a short video essay about my favorite genre, featuring some legendary guests from the community (ScrMz, aCo from UT2k4, Polosatiy from Quake, as well as Allan and oopskurt — major CIS bloggers focused on Half-Life).

I’ve enabled auto-translated subtitles and dubbing for the video, so I hope you guys check it out and enjoy it!
