Found this PSP 1000 at my local Half Price Books, marked at 39.99 with a note that no battery or charger were included but it had been tested. This immediately struck me as a great price but looking at it revealed it was actually in great condition with a near flawless screen and body, much better than my current unit.
Finally had time to play with it tonight and was prompted to update the system when I put in a fairly old game. Instead I got curious what version was on the unit. Turns out this still has version 1.51 which was the release version for later 1000 units. Is it really possible this thing never got updated, and I assume used, after 2005? The condition would seem to indicate it is.

Will keep some of my childhood games.
Letting go of my game collection.
Been really cool being part of this community.
Edit; Reason:
I have really thought about it. My habits really stem down to playing the .iso version of the game on the console and I never truly use the physical game in the console. This collection mainly served as a display piece, I could use the money to serve other hobbies.

They knocked an additional $10 off the Warriors since I was also getting Kingdom Hearts 2 and they didn't have a case for KH2. Paid $60 for The Warriors and $10 for KH2. $70 total. I'm very happy

I've already got several, and was just looking on ebay for sellers that had multiple games I needed just to make sourcing them easier. Then... I came across Bonk's Adventure on obviously reproduction cartridges... I really enjoyed that game, and I prefer originals, so I dug a bit deeper.
Looked up the original production... and...
$1,000???? WHAT? Guys. I sold my original NES collection, about 20 games, console and all... for about $50 in 1997 in order to have enough to buy an N64.
I hate everything.

Is it safe to iron out this box? The only cardboard insert I have in my collection. It's actually in worse shape than the photo shown.

I feel like the Switch 1 library will be highly sought after in a decade or two if the games flash memory holds up and they still work more times than not.
I think the Switch 1 has the most complete, variety packed library gaming has ever seen to date.
Any of you guys agree with that take?

Just looking for advice, or just venting really.
I have a lot of 360 games in my collection (maybe 600), but to be honest, I find it hard to motivate myself to set up the 360 and actually play the games. Nowadays, I just turn on the Series X, and recently got a PS4. I have a bunch of rarer games, like all the Spider-Man games, and lately I've been debating just getting rid of most of my collection.
I like having a physical collection to look at, but for a long time it was just stressful to since it felt like there was a looming backlog staring back at me. Part of me wonders if I'll regret it, another part just doesn't really care so much anymore. I feel like a nice collection is an important part of being a gamer.

What systems are the hottest right now. I’ve been collecting for SNES for a while now. Have naturally moved to N64 and have noticed prices rising. In everyone’s personal experience, particularly those that are in the business, which systems are in the highest demand currently?

I have been collecting games from my childhood and systems to play them on. Finally snagged a monitor to play on and hooked up my one of the systems. I was ant to start with Zelda and then work my way through some NES and SNES classics.
Got a few Analogue systems standing by and a backwards compatible PS3. My retro corner is slowly coming to fruition.

I just happened to notice while looking at some other things on PriceCharting that it's saying it is worth like $120 up from like $50 a couple months ago. I guess I'm just curious whether something happened, or somebody just woke up and decided it's a $100 game and everybody rolled with it. Just made me go wtf lol.

I was recently playing Silent Hill, and was frustrated at how long it took to open and close the menu. I eventually realised it's due to the game rendering at 240p and the menus at 480i. My monitor just takes several seconds to switch. I'm using an OSSC (Having it set to output both as 480p does not fix the issue). A CRT is not an option. Is there anything I can do?
Edit: It seems it's time for my cheap garbage composite converter to shine. No switching issue and even smooths out the dithering. I think it's genuinely better than an OSSC for PS1 games at 1/10 the price.

Picked up a handful of games I enjoy at a local flea market. Managed to get them for $25 out the door. I’m happy about it!

Hey guys. Is there a provider for replacement stickers for the Game Boy case on the picture? Thank you for your help ✌️

These are the first 18 games Namco (under their console publishing label Namcot) published on the Famicom, before moving to clamshell cases and doing away with the numbered releases. All have manuals except for Warpman and Battle City, as those titles are substantially more expensive CiB compared to box+cart only.
Valkyrie no Bouken (#17) also includes a map of the game's world, which makes the box noticeably larger than the rest.

There is an original Xbox there as well as the SNES. Literally my childhood in a box. Just in time for winter too!
