After 32 years of never getting around to playing it, I recently completed Super Metroid for the first time!

Incredible game, an obvious technical and artistic powerhouse for 1994, and absolutely worth playing, but after an hour and a half of discussion following my playthrough, my personal conclusion was that it didn't *quite* reach the lofty expectations set by so many "Top X Games of All Time" lists I've seen it placed on over the years, sometimes even at #1!

How do you feel about Super Metroid in the context of the rest of the series and in the context of "greatest of all time" conversations?

Magical Quest is a great one, though some of the levels could be a little longer. I like the sequels as well, but not as much as the original. I also have it on GBA 😊

1. 2. 3.

Also wanted to know if this is the right way to shelf them as I’m new to the snes as far as collecting

I was clearing out the loft and came across an old PC. I turned it on and found these on there. Zsnes and gens, I used to use these for snes and mega drive emulation 20 years ago.

Any Mega Man X fans here?

RULES ON VOTING:

A game's votes will come from the comment with the highest number of upvotes. I will tally all of the responses and upvotes under each games "comment thread" and use that to count the votes.

Spill-over comments of the same game will not be counted.

What this means is if you want to nominate a game and see someone else has already nominated it, reply to their comment so that it counts! All upvotes in that comment thread, including the ones you get, will be counted towards the tally.

Thank you!

My entry: Mad clown. Sad friends. Suplex a train.

Just recently beat Trials of Mana for the first time, was floored, and thought it would be fun to see how Secret of Evermore holds up and Im pretty shocked. I played it as a kid and remember liking it alot but I also remember getting lost and frustrated alot. So far its been nothing but a fun time and Im in love with the world and sound design. I did need a map for one of the sewers but most of the world has been such a treat to explore. Seems like alot of love went into making this one.

We have made it to the end of this polling session!

I've also gone ahead and made graphics for the top four slots of each game category! Take a look through the gallery of images and soak in all of the SNES/Super Famicom goodness!

And, I wanted to say thank you to all of you for making this so fun and exciting. And for indulging me in this artsy endeavor! I hope you enjoy these graphics as much I enjoyed making them; these are just as much yours as they are mine.

Now, I'm preparing to run my last poll (for a long while, at least) on r/retrogaming starting in a few moments... I hope to see some of you there!

Thanks again all! And see you soon!
